Western Welcome Week ParadeMike Spalding reports:

We maxed out the number of people allowed in our parade entry, and we showed the Libertarian message to the maximum number of folks. It was great to watch the spectators as their eyes moved over our signs and read the Libertarian and No on C messages.  (Excuse the back view but I was taking pictures while walking in the parade).

Whew! It was intense, we got 1 honk every six cars on the average, 8 activists came all told.

Nature dictated events of the day. We had to retire to vehicles more than once in order to warm up from the numbing wind chill and driving rain. Eventually our signs literally fell to pieces due to the rain and wind; we were compelled to pack it in early at 6:30. Somewhere in there we managed to snap a picture or two.

I believe we kept alive the fire of freedom for many who passed by the Main Post Office on Johnson Road or were mailing their tax returns there. Those who saw us, will recall when we approach them a second time at local fairs, in articles in local papers, when they see our bus bench ads (to start showing up this year around town), or when we talk to someone at a social gathering and mention the libertarian party and they will say, "wasn't that you guys in front of the post office waving signs, wearing criminal costumes and early American patriot outfits?

Another plus for the day: Welcome newly registered libertarian David Moysey, welcome!
