Calling all civic-minded people!   Our state has over one hundred boards and commissions and I encourage you to think about applying to serve on one of them.  I’m always telling people that democracy is not a spectator sport, so here’s a great chance to participate.  Some of these positions do require specific expertise, but you might just be the person with that expertise.

Every year the Tax Foundation calculates a “Tax Freedom Day” for the U.S. and for each state. “Tax Freedom Day” is the day when, by their calculations, Americans have earned enough money to pay the cost of government.
