Bill of Rights Day
Today is Bill of Rights Day. I’ve found several good posts on the web today that cajole me to “celebrate Bill of Rights Day” today. But how does one celebrate such a day? Waive a flag about? Organize a Parade? Have a somber toast to a fallen ideal?
I think a good start would be reading the Bill of Rights, even if you have many many times before. Second, take the time to tell someone that it’s Bill of Rights day and have them read the bill of rights, or a good article about how our government violates the Bill of Rights each and every day and how we as Americans suffer because of it. The important thing is to get the discussion going and spread the word. Far too many Americans have never read the Bill of Rights or don’t understand its implications. Today is a good day to do something, in whatever way you can, no matter how big or how small, to correct that.
